WORLD ELDERS’ DAY – 2009
The World Elders’ day was launched by UN on October 1st , 1980. Today this movement is 29 years old. The UVNKS is 9 year old and this is our 9th year of celebrating the World Elders’ day.

The worlds’ elder day was celebrated on Thursday 1st October, 2009 at 11.00 AM
The Chief Guest for the day was Shri SK.Goel, Deputy General Manager, Punjab National Bank, Some of the salient features on this occasion were as under: Distribution of Sarees and suit pieces to the some of the old, economically weak and needy women of Dehra Dun. Distribution of Merit Scholarships to selected, deserving and needy students. Light entertainment through the media of a poems, Gazals, Shairee, and songs were arranged by the members.
This was followed by a lunch courtesy Punjab National Bank, for the members, the guests and other attending the function. A few photographs of the function are appended below: Er.
