WORLD ELDERS’ DAY – 2011
Venue Hotel Calista, Sharanpur Road, Dehradoon.
The worlds’ elder day was celebrated this year on Saturday the 1.10.2011.
The function was sponsered by the PUNJAB NATIONAL BANK, Dehra Dun.
The Chief guest was Shri Ashok Aneja, Dy. General Manager, PNB, Dehra Dun.
Some of the salient features were:
Sarees, suit pieces and sewing machines were distributed to the some of the old, economically weak and needy women of Dehra Dun.
Scholarships were also distributed to selected, deserving and needy students.
Some eminent Senior Citizens and Senior Members of the UVNKS were also honoured with the coveted Doon Gaurav award.
Shri D.G. Bansal joined the UVNKS as a patron and was also honoured.
Light entertainment through the media of a poems, Gazals, Shairee, and songs were arranged by the members.
This was followed by a lunch to the members, the guests and other attending the function.
