WORLD ELDERS’ DAY – 2012

The function was sponsored by the PUNJAB NATIONAL BANK, Dehra Dun.
The Chief guest was Shri Ashok Aneja, Dy. General Manager, PNB, Dehra Dun.
To mark the World Elder’s Day, Uttarakhand Gaurav awards were presented by DGM, PNB Shri Ashok Aneja to the senior citizens in recognition of their services at the function organized by Uttarakhand Varishth Nagrik Kalyan Samiti, Dehra Dun and sponsored by the Punjab National Bank.
The awardees included Shrimati Uma Joshi,Shri Ashok Aneja, Shri Manmohan Tiwari, Shri Narotam Prasad, Shri D.C.Bansal, Shri Rajinder Singh Sehgal. Capt. S.K.Bhandari, Shri Ashok Vashisth and Shri Dhanprakash Goyal.
Some of the other salient features were:
Distribution of Sarees, suit pieces and sewing machines were to the some of the old, economically weak and needy women of Dehra Dun.
Scholarships were also distributed to selected, deserving and needy students.
Light entertainment through the media of a poems, Gazals, Shairee, and songs were arranged by the members.
This was followed by a lunch to the members, the guests and other attending the function.
